The Health Ministry at Saint Patrick Catholic Church is organizing a team to participate in the 37th Annual Emergency Food Network Hunger Walk and 5K Run at beautiful Fort Steilacoom Park on Saturday, May 20, 2017.
Fighting Hunger with Healthy Living
The Health Ministry believes exercise is a key component to a healthy lifestyle. When exercising can help support our neighbors in need, what more could you ask? It is a win-win situation.
The 37th annual Hunger Walk & 5K Run is one of the oldest hunger fundraisers in Pierce County. This year for the first time they are adding a timed 5K run to the event! Walk through the trees and around a beautiful lake or run in the timed 5K. Funds raised at this annual event at Fort Steilacoom Park help Emergency Food Network provide food for our neighbors in need.
All Are Welcome
All are welcome. The event is kid friendly, the walk course is disability friendly and can even accommodate wheel chairs. The Health Ministry will provide refreshments to all Saint Patrick Catholic Church & School registered for the event, along with awards for the oldest, youngest, most inspirational, fastest team members.
