You have seen the logo and heard or read about Saint Patrick Catholic Church’s newest ministry. You may have even signed up to find out more about giving care and support to people when they need it most – while making a difference in your own life as a Stephen Minister.
Where Are We Now?
Several dozen parishioners have expressed interest. This is a wonderful beginning. Still discerning your call? The door remains open.
Leadership Training
The first step was to send two lay leaders to learn the Stephen Series system for pastoral care so that they can establish and maintain Stephen Ministry in our parish while teaming with existing ministries. Anne Chambers and Penny Melton represented Saint Patrick Catholic Church at a mid-April 2016 conference in St. Louis, Mo. They returned with the tools needed to direct the training of Stephen Ministers. The parish prayed for travel mercies, April 10-16, and a fruitful outcome for our parish.
A Prayer for Safe Travel
O almighty and merciful God, Who hast commissioned Thy angels to guide and protect us, command them to be our assiduous companions from our setting out until our return; to clothe us with their invisible protection; to keep us from all danger of collision, of fire, of explosion, of falls and bruises; and finally, having preserved us from all evil, and especially from sin, to guide us to our heavenly home. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
